Mr. Pyramyth Liu is a Venture Partner at iD Ventures America.
In addition to his executive management background in operating
roles, he helps develop startups in the e-commerce, internet
security, enterprise software, and the wireless industry market
place. He currently serves as the Board of Director at MobileID,
Zeus Communications Inc., and PointRed Technology, Inc. At iDVA,
Mr. Liu’s focus is on investments in the software and
wireless market.
In 1993, Mr. Liu joined Acer Computer International
(ACI) as the Director of Sales for its Japanese subsidiary,
Acer Japan Corporation. At ACI, he established and managed major
distribution, retail, and corporate sales channels for PC and
PC component businesses in Japan. Mr. Liu also coordinated the
Acer Group strategic alliance with Japanese firms. Between 1997
and 2000, Mr. Liu was the head of ShopAcer at Acer America Corporation
(AAC). He established and managed all aspects of the B2C e-commerce
operations for direct PC sales to consumers. In addition, he
oversaw the call center, logistics, and warehouse operations
to fulfill and support end-user demand.
Prior to joining the Acer Group, Mr. Liu worked
at the Fujisankei Group, a Japanese media conglomerate. Between
1987-1993 he was the White House Correspondent for a Japanese
daily newspaper, the Sankei Shimbun, a division of Fujisankei
Communications International, Inc. He reported on businesses
and economic issues related to U.S.-Japan, U.S.-China, and U.S.-Asian
affairs.
Mr. Liu graduated from the Paul H. Nitze School
for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at the Johns Hopkins
University with an MA degree in International Relations and
International Economics. He holds a BA in Statistics from the
National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
